To encourage creativity, teach basic life skills, and raise awareness about healthy eating habits in a fun and enthusiastic environment "Cook without fire activity" conducted on 29" November 2024, from classes Pre-Nursery to class 3. The students worked in small groups, under the supervision of their teacher, to create a variety of healthy snacks and dishes using fresh fruits, vegetables and other readily available ingredients. The activity emphasized safety and cleanliness, ensuring that the children learned to handle food responsibly
Recipes Prepared:
1. Pre- Nursery and Nursery (Jhaal Murhi): A traditional and nutritious Bengali snack was prepared by the tiny tots under the guidance and with the help of their teachers in a very simple manner. The dish was a combination of puffed ric roasted peanuts and other rice, spices.
2. Class Prep -(Sandwich) - Students prepared variety of sandwiches using only raw material Each sandwich had a different kind of filling and flavor. The use of fresh vegetables, avocados, and other healthy ingredients made the sandwiches not only tasty but also balanced and nutritious.
3. Class 1- (Fruit salad, corn salad and sprout salad). The students prepared three different kinds of salads Each salad offered a unique blend of flavours, texture and nutritional benefits. Fruit salad was sweet and refreshing. Sprout salad was protein packed and tangy and the Corn salad was crispy and crunchy.
4. Class 2- (Monaco Biscuit Toppings) Students prepared variety of Monaco biscuit toppings with different flavours. The biscuits were crisp and served as an excellent base for a range of toppings from fresh vegetables to creamy cheese spreads.
5. Class 3 (Paapdi Chaat) One of the most mouthwatering Indian street foods was prepared by the students of class 3 using a variety of ingredients and spices. The dish was a combination of crispy paapdi, creamy yogurt, tangy chutneys and fresh vegetables creating a balanced and delicious snack.
The stails arranged to display the students creativity instilled enthusiasm among the students and grabbed everyone's attention
On this occasion, Principal Mr. Soumen Chakraborty congratulated every student for their teamwork and said that such kind of activity encourages the children to explore various food options and understand the importance of incorporating fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy Ingredients into their daily diets.
In their special messages, Shri Tarsem Singh Ji, President, G.G.E.S. and Mr. S.P. Singh, Secretary. G.GES, conveyed that through these activities we aim to cultivate healthy eating habits among our students while also teaching them the importance of sustainability and the value of preparing food in a simple and eco-friendly manner.
